What is a Doll?

How long have we had this love affair with Dolls?

Pearls of Wisdom:

New World Dictionary describes a doll as - "a child's toy, puppet, marionette, etc. made to resemble a human being."

"Murder Most Foul"....

Happy Holidays to all of you my friends…I am very excited to tell you that I have been asked to join to the cast of the Western NY Mystery Theater Company on their production and adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Play “Death on the Nile”.
I will be portraying the “French Maid’, that is both a suspect, and/or witness…..coquettish, but dangerous and very jealous of her mistress.
Below are some pictures of earlier productions of “Death on the Nile”.

Everybody looks sooo innocent...Don't they? If you look closely that would be me, in the back, half hidden.

This is what my character will be wearing... verrry sexy, don't you agree?
The shoes are to die for.....

That would be me...working on my alibi

Maids ca. 1930's.... very alluring and glamorous

The wonderful Peter Ustinov as Monsieur Poirot

Unfortunately because of daily rehearsals through the month of January, and performances during the first two weeks of February, I will not be able to work on my posts as diligently as I would normally do. The time I spend researching for the posts is the most rewarding therapy, and I lose myself sometimes with no regards to how much time just flies by when I am so transported in finding interesting things to post and beautiful pictures to show you.

So because I do so love this medium, and met such wonderful people that actually read my postings I feel it is only fair to let you know the reason I won’t be posting as often, and hopefully when the play closes I will be able to visit with you again…There are many types dolls still that I haven’t featured, and there is always history and art to write about. Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope to see you again soon.

Au Revoir…Bisous

  1. Sounds such fun. Have a great time.
    Break a leg (lol)

  2. The clothes of your character can be VERY sexies! Anyone can see that! The shoes... Lol!

You know how much I'm glad for you, dear Marta.

    we'll be in touch!

    Un beso grande.

  3. Thank you my dearest friends...I do hope we will stay in touch. I am looking forward to this adventure and sharing it with you!

  4. Oh how very exciting for you, wish I could see the play..have fun Marta! Hugs from Vermont, Judi

  5. The dream of my life: acting alongside Monsieur Poirot!
I love Agatha Christie (I read everything!) but my heart is hanging over the side of the little Belgian with the egg-shaped head, rather than Miss Marple.
With Poirot travels the world, and also on the Nile ...
But, that's wrong, or the waitress makes a bad end?!
Patience, it is worth getting killed, if there is ultimately Poirot to solve the case!
I'm really happy for you and not wait to have more news about!
    A big hug and admired

  6. Thank you Flora... I am so looking forward to this opportunity, and yes, Louise finds her demise at the end of the second act. But no matter; Not before she has a chance to shine as a devious suspect. I love the part of Louise, and is so much fun to speak with a French accent.
I will keep you all posted...
