Pearls of Wisdom:

New World Dictionary describes a doll as - "a child's toy, puppet, marionette, etc. made to resemble a human being."

The Key Manufacturers: Voit 1806-1882

Voit, was the second German manufacturer to be granted the privilege to produce and sell papier mache goods including dolls. He used wax models for the three types of doll’s heads he manufactured: The Kinderkopf or child’s head, the closed mouth Pauline or so-called French papier-mache head , and the open mouthed Pauline type head.

Some of the unique characteristics of Voit dolls are brush marks at the temples, open mouths with bamboo teeth, and on some dolls, flirting eyes.

  2. Beautiful, Marta. I love the hairdo of the 3th doll. The one with braids it's a little spooky, but maybe for that reason, I like it.
